What can I say about the 70's? Apart from a change in pace in Hollywood, the decline in part of the British film industry and the culmination of Vietnam - fashions were changing, Punk Rock and Gay Rights were the agenda for a generation intent on change and improvement. More tolerable society led also to changing expectations in cinema and on television. The Exorcist, American Graffiti, A Clockork Orange and Star Wars were the new breed of film; Action adventures hit an all time high while notorious horror films ended up banned within weeks of release. Roger - during this period - would move away from TV and into films with roles including The Man who Haunted Himself, Gold and Shout At The Devil. Of course he also took on the mantle of James Bond - which is dealt with under a completely seperate section. I believe it is a noteworthy comment that this decade is arguably not only Roger's most productive but also comprises some of his best work - he was, you might say, in his element!
