The 1980's, the death of a legend, the marriage of the decade, the growth of shocking fashion and a music scene that still reverberates today. Culture Club, Duran Duran, Def Leppard - the list goes on and on as music in the 80's took on a different lease of life. New Romantics, Power Ballads and Rock were the call of the clubs; mobiles appeared and James Bond never had one! - Prooving once and for all that back then yuppies were a breed unto themselves.

Indiana Jones emerged as Hollywood's answer to James Bond, Star Wars concluded (so we thought), Eastenders was first screened on BBC1 and cinema goers doubled.

Roger at this time was mostly working within the Bond frachise - and on a number of occasions nearly hung up that Walther PPK; however he stayed on until 1985. Again an interesting mix of other films pad out the 80's in his filmography, the most notable from the list are The Cannonball Run and The Naked Face. The Sea Wolves is also of interest - as it's a film I always felt would have fitted nicely into Roger's 1970's dossier.
