Desmond Llewelyn - Q to many of us, was tragically killed in a car crash while driving home from a book signing in London. Our thoughts here at TREO are with his family and friends, and we hope his memory is kept alive with the Bond franchise.

26th
The World Is Not Enough opens across Europe to great reviews, hailed possibly as Brosnans Best! The intake of the film is in the region of $31m in its opening weekend (US of course).

A month after this tragic event Roger was interviewed in the Times newspaper, on a 2 page article. It discussed his career, the accident, some of his private life and his current work for UNICEF and how he got involved.

4th
Roger Moore was being honored at the French Television Awards. As he was leaving his chaffeur hit his Girlfriend Kristina Tholstrup, after reversing into her with the door open. Roger was left holding her in his arms as the ambulance took them away to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries. She is now making a good recovery.

April

19th
Roger attended a memorial for his long standing friend and collegue Lord Lew Grade who died last December. For more information click here.

10th
Roger made his first TV interview in this country for a long time opposite Graham Norton. The episode was inmensely funny and Roger did not look a day over 60, I swear.

March

9th
Roger was finally awarded his CBE for his continuing work for UNICEF. He was awarded along with friend Tom Jones. The honour was announced on December 31. 1998 and was a great surprise to many - not to say that he doesn't deserve it because he does!!!
