News: Who bought Gold? Your nodding your heads, I can see it. I was one of the many who rushed out to buy it, having missed it every time it was on TV. Now the bad news is your going to have to buy it again, the good news however is that Roger has just finished recording an audio commentary for the new release.

News: Unfortunately, those of you who were up on Sunday (24/10) will have noticed Roger did not appear on Breakfast with Frost. I am waiting to hear if there was any reason for this other than purely lack of time for the segment - policitcal, live shows, are often difficult to control in the current climate of change at the moment.

News: On Friday (22/10) the annual UNICEF Gala took place in London. Currently i have few details, however as I do I shall enceavure to update you with anything. If anyone would like to comment on the even please email me.

16 October 2004 - Site Updates: Alaskans Synopsis page updated. Cleaner Title banner added - keep an eye for updates with this. 1999 news archive added under Latest news & Archives.

13 October 2004 - News: Roger Moore to appear on Breakfast with Frost again on Sunday 24th September.

Apologies for Site update delays I am currently overworked, under paid and planning for my holiday in a few weeks.

18 September 2004 - Event News: Barbican Event sold out - Thursday night Screen Talk event has officially over subscribed. There are still tickets available for the shows throughout the weekend which includes a showing of The Spy Who Loved Me and The Naked Face.

05 September 2004 - Site Update: Maverick Cast page completed. Alaskans Crew page completed. New link added to Roger Links.

04 September 2004 - Event News: Tickets are selling out fast for the event on Thursday 21st Oct. For your chance to go please go to the following link and filter by date - you are able to select your seat etc...It is cheaper than booking via the telephone. Good luck at getting a seat - I would say about 2/3 maybe 4/5 have been sold already. See you there. www.barbican.org.uk - Web sales

25 August 2004 - Site Update: With these updates I really am spoiling you! The update today focuses on the Maverick cast page. Please take a look as the first 3 summary biographies are added. This page still has a little development to go but I might as well give you what I already have.

Event News: Yes, before you say it - You've been slow getting this info up! - I wish to point out (in the voice of Dr Kananga) that it's here now. Anyway - get out your diaries and jot this down: October 21st - 24th - Roger Moore weekend at The Barbican in London. This event begins on the Thursday with a screening of The Man Who Haunted Himself - a rare film with regards to cinematic and TV showings - much in the vein of Jinnah for Christopher Lee's event. Following this, at 9.05 there is a 1hr long screentalk with Roger Moore himself. On the Saturday there is a screening of an episode from The Saint and Overture from The Persuaders, followed by The Spy Who Loved Me. Finally on the Sunday, we are treated to 2 episodes of The Saint and The Naked Face.

This is an opportunity you must try not to miss out on. Based on past experiences at these events they are a wonderful opportunity to meet other fans, see some wonderful films on the big screen and have a really good time.

The Barbican currently has no details on its website about this event as it works normally on a 6 week/2 month rotation and therefore it is unlikely to have details until September.

17 August 2004 - Site Update: Well firstly apologies for the delay - my laptop almost died, I had to get a new machine to allow continuation of development on the site - as you can see it's here because I'm doing updates! Anyway, that, illness, work and revision have delayed the following - which is more a taster of whats to come really.

Please check out Films - where the filmography has been broken down into decades. The idea here is that each film will - if possible - have a review etc... associated to it via these pages. This allows for the adhoc updating of films, as some decades will clearly be filled faster than others.

Also take a peek under TV Shows > The Saint. Again a taster of whats to come. Each a block of episodes - rather than filter by 'season' I am filtering by Year. As you can see the structure is pretty simple - cast, crew and synopsis - and a review! These will be continuously updated so please pop back.

I thought I had done more really, but actually in total around 10 pages have been added/updated.

Fun fact: Upon finding an old episode of The Muppets I found the Roger Moore episode where upon he is serenaded by Miss Piggy, Assaulted by 'spies' and sings Dr Dolittle. Perhaps not so much a novelty fact, but it's certainly fun to watch! This of course has prompted a search for Celebrity Deathmatch vs Sean Connery and the immortal Spitting Image sketches of which there are 2!

24th April 04 - Site Update: Please see the emergence of Roger Moore Links under the Links section of the site. More will follow as soon as they are found and reviewed.

News: Well it's been a busy week for Roger all in all what with saving the day for Her Majesty during the unveiling of the 10yr Heathrow plaque for BA. However I digress, I should really start this section off properly, so I shall.

Firstly on Friday if you happened to pick up a copy of the Metro paper on the bus, train or underground you would have caught the 60 Second interview with Sir Roger. I must admit its refreshing to see some joke questions e.g. 'Where you jealous of Christopher Lee's 3rd nipple in TMWTGG?' - 'No, as I have one of my own!' was the response. Of course what he was really prompting was the united front for aiding children that UNICEF and BA has unveiled. More information on that soon.

At the ceremony Her Majesty had a little trouble with the curtain on the plaque, which Roger happily strode over and gave a hefty tug to save the day! This report was in the Saturday papers.

To coincide - almost by accident - we have had on British TV 2 Roger films, last Monday we had AVTAK (typical Bank Holiday fayre) and on Saaturday afternoon The Sea Wolves made a rare appearance on terrestrial TV.

Fun fact: Now, imagine my surprise when I got in from the Gym to find an old American/british spooky thriller on BBC1. Watcher in the Woods was filmed in 1980 and starred a number of famous names (Bette Davis and David McCallum amongst them) however it earns its right to be in this section purely down to the appearance of Lynne Holly Johnson in one of the lead roles - an actress who it appeared was going to have a glittering career went on to star in FYEO as BiBi Dahl opposite Roger Moore.

24th April 04 - Site Update: The Alaskans section has expanded, there is now a complete set of cast information, with brief biographies on the support cast to Roger.

Fun fact: The Persuaders - Rainer Brandt (german voice of Tony Curtis) who did all the german texts for the series helped make the series a smash hit by using Yiddish terms and lots of Berlin talk, and also included text when in reality there was actually nothing spoken. His sense of humor encouraged the French who did similar, however they were unable to capture the essence of the German dubbing.

22nd Mar 04 - Fun fact: This was supposed to go up friday - but I was delayed. This is more for the Bond fan in you all. Recall Carole Bouquet - Melina havelock in For Your Eyes Only? Well she crops up in the oddest of places, the most recent playing Juliette - the ex-wife of Aleksandr Petrovsky in the Sex and The City finale in Paris.

15th Mar 04 - Site Update: Maverick episode guide split into 2 pages due to size and The alskans episode guide is now up.

Fun fact: How do you link Sir Roger, Harry Potter and HRH The Prince of Wales? Through Stephen Fry! Stephen Fry starred with Sir Roger and HRH Prince Charles at the Royal Variety Performance the other year. Stephen Fry also narrates the Harry potter stories for tape and CD - a slightly longer job that Roger's reading of Thunder Point (review to come).

15th Mar 04 - Latest News: Gold to be shown on ITV at 1am the night of Tuesday 16th/Wednesday 17th.

Gstaad is no longer just for the rich and famous... As Holiday on BBC1 showed this evening it is an affordable destination outside of winter with some wonderful activities and affordable festivals. Notable events include the annual music festival in July/August and the yearly Polo tournament. As visitors to this site are aware, Gstaad is host to one of Roger's many homes and to an outlet of Hush, Geoffrey Moore's London restaurant/bar/bistro. Link

Fun fact: Shout at the Devil and Gold, Roger Moore films from the 1970s, successful in their own right owe this to Wilbur Smith who was on hand to adapt his own novels for the screen.
Rod Slater in Gold is actually Rod Ironsides in Goldmine, which certianly has a more interesting climax involving a rush for personal rescue and boardroom desperation than appears on screen.
Shout at the Devil's adaptation is intreging; sacrificing the hard ending for a more open revenge style ending on screen - Holllywood got its way (as normal).
It's also interesting to note the use of Maurice Binder for titles on Gold (an old hand in the Bond franchise) and Matt Munroe sings the title tune (also from the Bond franchise).

10th Mar 04 - Latest News: Wild Geese is officially set for release, Australian Saint DVD sets selling well, and Carlton look like they may finally get back into the breech and continue release of the Saint on DVD - more news as I get it.

Right, site update news... well, beyond a few tweaks and tidy up sessions things are moving forward again - as I type this the cast and crew pages for all TV series' are under construction - now for the fun fact...

Fun fact: Peter Gilmore - mainstay in numerous Carry On films including .. up the Khyber, .. Doctor, .. Again Doctor, .. Henry - starred with Roger in Ivanhoe, in an uncredited bit part. It has since been found out that he also then went to star with Roger in The Persuaders - #12 - as Mather in episode titled 'Thats Me Over There'. Also through his work in cinema he links Roger Moore to Vincent Price due to starring in The Abominable Dr Phibes as Dr Kitaj.

23rd Feb 04 - Before the fun fact... Feast your eyes on whats to come as the James Bond and Download main menus are updated. These will give you an idea of whats in store and in development. Now for the regular -

Fun fact: For those non-Bond watchers among you imagine the scene, Roger sitting in a chair, a bullet flying towards him, and the pyrotechnics going a little early (or was he just slow..?) Anyway, the result was 3 holes, and not just one in the preverbial backside. (From The Spy Who Loved Me)

14th Feb 04 - Fun fact: Roger Moore refused to strip for Cosmopolitan magazine when it was initially released. Consquently they decided to cheat - with a head placed on to someone else's body. Any visitor to the original site has likely seen the picture which will appear later in the relevant gallery. His fellow cannonballer, Burt Reynolds, howver wasn't quite so reserved and posed in the first edition!

8th Feb 04 - Fun fact: "Do 007"....."Do Roger Moore"...."More, More Roger Moore". A set of phrases from new film Lost In Translation by Sophia Coppolla starring Bill Murray as an American actor in the grips of a mid-life crisis in Japan and strikes up a friendship with fellow American Scarlet Johannson. The film itself has caused many people to doubt the critics who gave it 5* and 'Excellent', my friend didn't like the film, but this movie-goers opinion was 'I liked it and I dont know why!!'. Anyhow, as Bill Murray is asked to pose like Roger Moore I was creased up in the cinema for a joke which to many was just funny, but I saw beyond that -- it was too random, and Bill Murray doing Roger Moore - splendid (even if there was no trade mark eyebrow raising!) I'm not saying 'rush out and see this film' for the simple reason that its a film you should experiment with, but isn't essential viewing like the LotR Trilogy. If you dont like it, not like you didn't try :)

6th Feb 04 - Fun fact: Co-Star to Roger in The DREAM Team, Sarah Hadland is currently starring in Time and The Conways by J B Priestley alongside Penelope Keith and other stellar and emerging actors.
The story focuses on how the Conway family change in the period between the 2 World Wars and how things seem so inevitable that fate just wont be changed despite how much time we appear to have.
Moving to London following a Preview tour this is likely to have a successful run, and should raise good critical acclaim. If you are in the north of the UK it finishes its run at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle on Saturday 7th Feb. This new production was funded in association with the Theatre Royal, Bath.

4th Feb 04 - After throwing out my old Web Dev. PC :'( I have managed to salvage much of the site and made a small update - i.e. making sure some of the links are there etc... Please bare with me, as I have around 200 more pages of information to get back online :) Please continue to keep visiting and Email me anytime from the Contacts page.
